Who Do We Recruit?
This is the primary role in domiciliary care services. Domiciliary care workers provide direct care and support to clients in their own homes. They assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and companionship.
Registered nurses in domiciliary care services are responsible for overseeing and coordinating the overall care of clients. They assess client needs, develop care plans, administer medications, perform medical procedures, provide wound care, and offer specialised nursing interventions as required. RNs may also provide training and supervision to domiciliary care workers.
LPNs/LVNs work under the supervision of registered nurses and provide direct care to clients. They assist with activities of daily living, administer medications, monitor vital signs, perform basic medical procedures, and provide wound care. LPNs/LVNs play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of clients.
Care coordinators or case managers oversee the coordination and management of care for clients. They collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to assess needs, develop care plans, coordinate services, and monitor the overall progress of clients' care. Care coordinators also act as a central point of contact for communication and ensure that the care provided meets the specific requirements of each client.
Home health aides provide essential support to clients in their homes. They assist with personal care, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, and may also help with light housekeeping tasks. Home health aides work closely with domiciliary care workers and nursing staff to ensure clients' needs are met effectively.
Social workers play a crucial role in domiciliary care services by addressing the psychosocial needs of clients and their families. They provide emotional support, counseling, and assistance in accessing community resources and support services. Social workers also ensure that clients' social and emotional well-being is considered and supported throughout the care process.
Companions or sitters provide social and emotional support to clients, particularly those who may be isolated or in need of companionship. They engage in conversation, provide companionship, accompany clients on outings, and engage in recreational activities to enhance the overall well-being and quality of life for clients.
